Itchy Feet

Experiences maketh men, said someone, somewhere.

#Travel

One of the things that was so attractive about moving to London was the ability to be able to travel - To see more of this big crazy world we live in, to hear more stories, to experience different cultures, food and history. I think we've done well so far, within our limits and resources. Being on Europe's doorstep is cool, but to have to apply for a Schengen visa each time, spending £150 just on that, per trip, really can kill some enthusiasm but oh well, if it's got to be done, it's got to be done. Quite happy with our effort so far, I have to say.

2012 was all about London - settling down, living it up, spending money on some fine dining and friday night pub tabs and really getting into the new life. 6 months flew by before it was time to go celebrate some good friends getting married in India, and fit a mini beach break at Mahabalipuram in there as well. No complaints there :)

2013 was good, in the tourist-in-Europe type of view. We went to Paris, Barcelona, Istanbul, then to Mangalore, India for a wedding, summer in London with friends visiting, which meant beaches in Brighton and more exploring around London. Winter meant back to Delhi and Bangalore, India for more wedding & family fun, and squeezed in a long weekend in Brussels and Brugge right at the end of the year. Can't complain!

2014 was more about spending time with people, and travelling with friends and family. Almost 3 weeks in the US of A: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon (best decision ever) and San Francisco, all with amazing company. Portugal early in the summer, with cousins and nieces and lots of fun, and then settled down in London for the summer, with a stream of visitors which meant more local travelling - Brighton, new spots around London, and Edinburgh - one of my most favourite-est places ever. Just as we thought we're spending a low-cost Christmas at home and saving some money, a last minute (literally last hour) decision meant another 3 weeks in India over the holidays. Not complaining!

2015 is looking promising already, quite excited. Dublin or Scotland in early May, Nice - Monaco - Zurich in late May, Athens - Mykonos, Greece in June, potentially India in July, Copenhagen in August and that's only whats been booked so far.
Lets do this!
